I offer salutations to Vishnu, who is calm, who is seated on the serpent, in whose navel is the lotus flower, who is the Lord of the devas, who is the support of the world, who is like the sky, whose color is that of the sky, whose limbs are beautiful, who is the consort of Lakshmi, whose eyes are lotus-like, who is attained by the meditation of yogis, who is the sole protector of all worlds, and who is the dispeller of fear.

I offer salutations to that Bhagavan whom Brahma, Varuna, Rudra and Vayu praise with divine hymns, whom the Samagana singers sing of through the words of the Vedic Upanishads, whom the wise yogis behold in meditation, and whose glory neither the devas nor the rakshasas know.
